Performance Tested Genetics
2024 NKR Top Consignor, University of Florida Buck Test
Our primary focus is on the New Zealand Kiko goat breed. We have 100% New Zealand Kiko, Purebred Kikos, and commercial/percentage Kikos. We also have a small herd of Boer goats and Boer/Kiko crosses.
When breeding our herd, we select for traits that are the most important to us - parasite resistance, mothering ability, and rapid growth. We performance test our goats on farm as well as in the University of Florida Buck Test. In 2024, we were pleased to be awarded NKR's Top Consignor. The bucks we consigned to the UF test both finished in the top 12, and we were the only consignor to have both bucks complete the test without being disqualified due to parasite load.
Yes! We sell goats. Whether you are a breeder looking to add some different genetics into your breeding program, a small farmer looking to start or expand your herd, or want goats for meat, contact us to find out what we have available. We breed twice a year, with kidding seasons in winter (Dec/Jan) and early fall (Aug/Sept).
We also sell goats off farm for meat. If you are looking for goat meat for an upcoming holiday or celebration, please contact us for availability. We do not allow on farm slaughter, but you are welcome to arrange pick up at our farm or we may be able to arrange transport to a processor for a fee.
Both young doelings and wethers (castrated males) can make excellent pets. Goats are very social and have distinct personalities, making them a joy to own. They are also very smart and can be trained to follow, hike, and even follow routines.
Goats are also often used very effectively for brush control, clearing brush and small trees with ease. Goats love all sorts of weeds, bushes, and because of their hard upper palates, they can even eat thorny bushes and vines.
